[Also in Group XI] An electric lamp is fitted with a bulb having two filaments and with a switch mechanism including a contact strip which can be moved into either of two positions in each of which it is connected to one of the filaments and a movable switch member for closing the circuit. One support of each filament terminates in a separate contact on the bulb, these contacts being engaged by tongues 30<SP>1</SP>, 31<SP>1</SP> on two metal rings 30, 31 insulated from one another and from the bulb socket 17 on which they are mounted by rivets 28. The side of the torch body 10 carries a switch casing 36 slidable thereon by rivets 37, 38 passing through slots in the body and secured to a metal strip 43 insulated from the body and having near one end a projection 46 which can be moved into contact with either of the rings 30, 31. The strip 43 is formed with four spaced tags 53, 54, 55 and 56, projecting into the casing 36. A slider 41 is mounted so as to move into three positions defined by humps on the top of the casing 36 engaging a projection 49 on a bow spring inside the slider. In one of these positions the circuit is open; in the second it is closed by a contact 62 operated by a pressbutton 47 engaging the tag 53; and in the third by a contact 63 engaging the tag 56. The rivets 28 are connected by a member 29 to the positive terminal of a battery, the other terminal being connected to the body of the torch.
