Abstract

893,132. Agricultural implements. WHITFIELD BROS. (ENGINEERS) Ltd. June 9, 1960 [June 10, 1959], No. 19819/59. Class 6(1). A weeding machine comprises blades 18 mounted on shafts 16, 17 which extend longitudinally of a three wheeled frame. The shafts are driven by gearing from a motor which also drives a pair of rear wheels 10 through worm and wheel gearing the arrangement being such that the cutters revolve to throw the cut plants outwardly. The blades 18 are mounted in friction discs secured to the shafts to allow the blades to slip on meeting an obstruction.
