Abstract

889,126. Screw sockets. RAWLPLUG CO. Ltd. Oct. 5, 1960 [Oct. 19, 1959], No. 35303/59. Class 89(1). A screw socket I for insertion in a hole 2 comprises a resilient sleeve slotted at 7 and having an internal screw-threaded bore, the diameter of which decreases towards the inner end. The inner end of the socket is adapted to be expanded against the wall of the hole 2 by means of a tapered plug 12 which is forced axially within the sleeve as by a screw 16. The plug 12 has a series of ribs 14 which engage and lock against the threaded bore of the sleeve in a number of positions.
