628,912. Wall plugs. ELLIOTT, G. B. July 1, 1947, No. 17262. [Class 89 (i)] A wall plug consists of a metal sleeve c flanged externally at c<SP>2</SP> and internally at c<SP>1</SP>. A nut a slides within the sleeve and may have projections to engage in slots c<SP>3</SP> in the sleeve. An inner sleeve b of rubber or similar resilient material is located between the nut and a washer d. If the nut be located within a hole in a wall &c. the rubber sleeve expands, on tightening the bolt, through the slots c<SP>3</SP> and grips the wall of the hole, but if the nut be beyond the end of the hole the rubber sleeve forms projections b<SP>1</SP> which exert a clamping effect at the back of the panel &c. f.
