Abstract
886,193. Drums. PREMIER DRUM CO. Ltd. Feb. 20, 1960 [April 3, 1959], No. 11429/59. Class 88 (2). A snare is carried by a bar which is carried by damping means mounted on the drum shell. As shown in Fig. 1 the snare 2 is carried by arms 4 pivoted on a bar 7 and having tension screws 10. The bar 7 is mounted in the drum wall in collars 8 of rubber, plastics material or felt. The levers 4 may be replaced by the twoposition hand-operated lever 22 shown in Fig. 4. To mount the snare inside the drum the tensioning arrangement of Fig. 3 may be used in which one end of the snare is mounted on a sliding arm 20 propelled by screw 18 while the other end of the snare is carried by an arm such as 20 but fixed to the bar 7. Another way of mounting the snare inside the drum is shown in Fig. 2 where the bar 7 is mounted in shock-absorbent pads 11 and the snare is tensioned by a pivoting arm 15 and a screw 18.
