885,806. Piston rings. CROSS MANUFACTURING CO (1938) Ltd. Oct. 19, 1960 [Jan. 29, 1960], No. 3246/60. Class 122 (1). A piston-and-ring assembly comprises a hard metal split bearer ring 1 having its outer peripheral face 2 formed with an annular concave recess which preferably extends between the top and bottom edges 3, 4 of the ring. The inner face 5 may be cylindrical or convex. As shown in Fig. 4, the bearer ring 1 is disposed between two sealing rings 8, 9. Specifications 415,322, 841,975 and 874,145 are referred to.
