Abstract
884,750. Centrifugal separators. HUET, A. April 9, 1959 [June 9, 1958], No. 12021/59. Class 23. A steam separator comprises two separators in series, the first separator b comprising a pair of semi-elliptical plates inclined to each other and to a transverse plane through the separator, and the second separator comprising a helical surface O forming in conjunction with a conduit p a passage for the steam. The larger droplets of water separated by the first separator are discharged through a pipe d, and the smaller droplets separated by the second separator pass through slots h to discharge through a pipe i. The helical surface may be restricted to either the convergent or the divergent part of the conduit, and the conduit may be cylindrical. In a modification the second separator comprises a plurality of small separators each comprising a conduit containing a helical surface.
