883,128. Bearings. LANDIS & GYR A.G. Aug. 25, 1960 [Sept. 1, 1959], No. 29409/60. Classes 12 (1) and 12 (3). A pivot bearing for electricity meters has a stainless steel ball situated between two jewels and the surface of the ball is provided with a layer of dry lubricant such as molybdenum disulphide. The layer is applied by rolling polished balls in a tumbler containing finely pulverized dry lubricant and is consolidated by prolonged rolling without addition of lubricant. Loose particles of lubricant are removed by ultrasonic treatment in a solvent such as benzine or benzene. The particle size of molybdenum disulphide used should be smaller than 0.005 mm.
