Abstract

776,202. Letterboxes. PARKES & SONS, Ltd., J., FRYER, E. C. and ORDIDGE, E. F. Feb. 8, 1956 [Feb. 15, 1955], No. 4413/55. Class 18. A letter plate comprises two separable units one constituted by a flap 10 with a spindle 12 non-removably mounted in spaced lugs 11 with a spring 13 therebetween, and the other unit by an apertured face plate 17 having two spindle bearing lugs 19, at least one of which has an open-sided slot 20 through which the spindle 12 can be manipulated. To mount the flap 19 on the face plate 17, the spring 13 is slid to the end remote from an abutment 21 on the plate 17 while the spindle 12 is introduced into the bearings 19 after which the spring is slid to lie under the abutment 21 and prevent accidental displacement of the spindle 12 from the bearings 19.
