875,978. Photographic cameras. AGFA A.G. June 3, 1960 [June 20, 1959], No. 19811/60. Class 98(1) A photographic camera has means controlled by a focusing device of the taking objective for indicating the focusing setting in the viewfinder by bringing into the viewfinder field a series of pictorial representations each indicating a different distance of the subject from the camera. As shown, the focusing setting is indicated in viewfinder 3 by means of pictorial representations 16-18 which are carried by a rotatable disc 15 and are brought in turn into the field of view dependently on the adjustment of focusing ring 7 by means of a pinion 13 rigid with disc 15 a spring urged toothed exploring lever 10 and a stepped-cam bearing ring 8 which is rotatably coupled to the focusing ring 7. In modifications the representations 16-18 may be carried by a slide, the disc 15 or said slide may be controlled by a crown cam member in place of member 8 and the representations may be arranged laterally of the viewfinder for reflection into the viewfinder field together with image bounding marks.
