874,724. Crutch tips. SMITH, A. A. July 30, 1959, No. 26125/59. Class 134 A crutch tip is formed with a neck 14 having a single line of bending movement with respect to the base 15, this line being disposed a substantial distance above the bottom of the crutch-shaft receiving passage 18, to achieve greater stability when the neck is inclined to the base. As shown, a metal disc 22 is disposed at the bottom of the passage 18 and the lower end of this passage is frusto-conical to enable the crutch shaft 11 to be inclined relative to base 15. The bottom of base 15 is formed with circular grooves 16 to improve the grip of the resilient rubber tip on the ground.
