Abstract
873,978. Resilient seat mountings. BREMSHEY, F., and FULLING, W., [trading as BREMSHEY & CO.]. May 24, 1960 [June 12, 1959], No. 18301/60, Classes 52(1) and 52 (2). A resiliently mounted vehicle seat has a base frame 10 secured to the floor of the vehicle and with sides 11 to which are pivoted links 14, 15 of a parallelogram linkage carrying the frame 18 supporting the seat cushions and back, the link 14 being constructed as a two-armed lever of which the free arm 19 is forked and provided with notches 20 on the forks to receive a bolt 21 connecting tension rods 22 which are connected at their other ends by a cross piece 23 into which an adjusting screw 24 can be screwed. A springing and shock-absorbing device consisting of a rubber body 29 with wear plates at its ends is supported between a bracket 28 fixed to the base frame and cross-piece 23. In a modification Fig. 4 the rubber body is replaced by coil springs 35, 36 and a hydraulic shock-absorber 40. The height of the seat can be adjusted in both forms by means of bolt 24.
