Abstract
872,666. Tubular heat exchange elements BONO-CORAGGIOSO, C, April 10, 1959 [April 19, 1958], No. 12251/59. Class 64(3) -A heat exchanger tube 1 has a core mounted therein such as to leave an annular channel between the core and the tube wall, the core comprising an elongated member 4 on which is helically wound a drawn metal wire, rod or strip 7 which may be welded to the member 4. The core may be of truncated conical shape or may be made in sections. In a core comprising interconnected sections the diameter of the sections may increase progressively in the direction of fluid flow through the tube. Supports 6 may extend from the core to position it concentrically within the tube.
