Abstract

A smoke generating composition for the dispersal of volatile control agents comprises a volatile control agent and a heater composition comprising thiourea, potassium chlorate, a mineral filler and an acid neutralizing agent, e.g. an alkali metal carbonate or bicarbonate, an alkali and earth metal oxide, hydroxide carbonate or bicarbonate or aluminium oxide or zinc oxide or hydroxide, present in an amount adapted to reduce decomposition of the thiourea in storage. The composition may be contained in a canister having an outlet at one end.
