Abstract

857,164. Air humidifiers. BORKAT, P. Feb. 10, 1958 [Feb. 11, 1957], No. 4314/58. Class 55 (2). [Also in Group XXIX] An air humidifier comprises a casing through which air to be humidified is drawn, a tank containing water, an electric motor mounted above the tank and having a shaft 26 extending into the casing and carrying a rotor disc 27, and a belt 37 resting on the shaft 26 and dipping into the water in the tank, the belt being engaged by a plate 38 to hold it at an angle to the vertical so that the upper portion of the belt lies against the rotor disc and on rotation supplies water thereto for spraying into the air to be humidified. The rotor disc has a central conical portion and segments 31 and 32 bent in opposite directions. Alternatively the rotor disc may be fluted as shown in Fig. 5 and the belt 37 may rest on a frusto-conical member 46 as shown in Fig. 6.
