Abstract

856,298. Valves. LOOS & CO.'S FABRIEKEN N.V., G. L. Nov. 11, 1958, No. 36170/58. Class 135. A pressure reducing valve comprises a lift valve member 8 attached to a piston 13, having the same diameter as the valve seating, working in a bushing 14 attached to a portion 3 of the valve housing to which high pressure fluid enters -through a port 2. A pipe 18 connects the working space of the piston and cylinder to atmosphere or to a chamber 6 on the downstream side of the valve where a spring-loaded diaphragm 10 is attached to the valve member bv a rod 9 so as to control the valve member so as to maintain the pressure of fluid at the outlet 7 constant. An elastic sleeve 19, preferably of rubber, seals the piston and cylinder against ingress of high pressure gas, and the desired outlet pressure may be controlled by an adjustable abutment 12.
