Abstract

855,676. Press-button retractive switches. ARMSTRONG WHITWORTH AIRCRAFT Ltd., Sir W. G. May 21, 1958, No. 16276/58. Class 38 (5). A plunger-operated switch has a flexible sealing - sleeve connected to it at its outer end, the other end of the sleeve being sealed to the switch body, the fixed contact elements being moulded in the body. As shown, the contact posts 11, 12 in body 13 carry contacts 26, 27 arranged to be bridged by a contact 35 carried by the plunger 32 under the action of a spring 25. The lower ends of posts 11 pass through a plastic cover 24 into a terminal chamber 15 having a rubber seal 17 between the wall 13a and a cover 16, the cables entering through rubber grommets 20 in wall 13a. The flexible sealing sleeve 43 is sealed to the plunger at 42 and to a metal end-plate 30 moulded to the body.
