Abstract
A linoleum composition contains an aliphatic aminosulphonic acid or a salt thereof wherein the aliphatic radical contains from 1 to 6 carbons atoms, e.g. amino-methane, 2-aminoethane-, 3-aminopropane-, 4-aminobutane-, and 6-aminohexane-sulphonic acids or the corresponding sodium salts. The amino sulphonic acid or salt thereof may be present in an amount of up to 6% of the weight of the linoleum cement. The linoleum cement may be made by oxidising linseed or other drying oil in the presence of rosin and/or other resins, or is subsequently mixed therewith. The linoleum composition may contain, in addition to the cement and aminosulphonic acid or salt, such known additives as powdered cork, wood flour, whiting and pigments.
