Abstract

852,987. Washing-machines; wringers. ELECTROLUX A.B. Jan. 23, 1959 [Feb. 21, 1958], No. 2560/59. Class 138 (2). A washing-machine 10 with a removable cover 20 which may be used as a work-table for the wringer 18, has supporting brackets 24 mounted in two pairs of pivotal bearings 22 and 23 so that the brackets can swing outwardly from the machine to a position where the inverted cover is supported by the brackets, the upper edge of the cover being in alignment with the upper edge of the machine and rubber stops 28 on the lower part 27 of each bracket limiting the outward movement of the brackets. When the inverted cover 20 is supported on the projecting brackets the upwardly extending flange 30 is inserted under ribs 31 of the wringer so that the cover is retained in position. In the closed position the wringer 18 is lowered into the washing-container, the brackets are folded against the washing-machine and the lower part 27 thereof may be used as a holder for an electric cable.
