Abstract

852,718. Chairs. CRONDALE FURNITURE CO. Ltd. April 9, 1959, No. 12002/59. Class 52(2) In a knock down chair in which two similar frame members are collapsible after removal of the back rest 2, each member has a tubular portion 3 carrying legs 5 in which an angle member 6 is rotatably mounted. After removal of the seat 1 and back rest 2, each member 6 is swivellable to a position adjacent a leg 5 (Fig. 2, not shown) so that the chair can be packed flat. Preferably, portion 3 is of square section tubular steel and screws 7 pass through tubular members 6 and enter nuts captive in the base board of upholstered seat 1. Back rest 2 is secured by wood screws 9 or captive nuts and legs 5 are of tubular metal.
