Abstract

848,164. Centrifugal separators. CANADA, DEPARTMENT OF MINES OF. Sept. 2, 1958 [Sept. 7, 1957], No. 28107/58. Class 23 A classifier comprises a cylindrical casing 61, a tangential inlet 71 to the casing, an outlet 81 from the casing, a tube 67 extending internally within the casing, apertures 91, 91a, 91b, 91c in the tube, and an outlet 89 from the tube. The outlet 89 is connected to a cyclone which discharges finer particles into a collector. The outlet 81 is connected to a second cyclone which discharges coarser particles into a second collector. The air outlets of the cyclones are connected to a fan so that material to be classified is drawn into the classifier from a funnel and through a Venturi.
