Abstract
847,381. Electrolytic condensers. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. June 4, 1957 [June 5, 1956], No. 17304/56. Class 37 The anode riser 1 i.e. tie rod to which the anode foil of an electrolytic condenser is attached projects through the cover 4 for the end of the condenser con and is used as the support for a terminal (Figs. 2-4, not shown). The riser 1 is sealed in the cover by the provision of a flange 3 thereon, a further flange 5 being formed after the riser 1 has been passed through the hole in the cover. The inner side of the cover may have a coating of rubber or other resilient material (Fig. 2 not shown). Alternatively, the second flange 5 is replaced by the skirt portion of a terminal tag pushed on to the riser and then crimped or welded thereto (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown). In the embodiment of Fig. 5, the riser is secured in an inner cover 4 of rubberised thermoplastic while a terminal 15 is secured in an outer cover 14. The terminal 15 is then slipped over the riser 1 and may be welded to it.
