816,639. Mounting terminals. MOCHI, E. G. March 5, 1957 [April 30, 1956], No. 7205/57. Class 38 (1). The open end of a cup-like container 1 for apparatus such as a condenser, is sealed by first inserting an insulating cover 4, which may carry terminals 9, and holding it in place against a shoulder 3 by turning over the end 5 of the container. A sealing washer 8 carried in a groove in the cover is compressed against the container. An annular cap 10 is then slipped over the end of the container, said cap being- shaped so as to form an annular space 14 around the gap between the end 5 of the container and the cover 4, which gap is filled with polyester resin subsequently polymerized by the application of heat and pressure. Finally, the wall 11 of the cap is swaged against the outside of the container. Fig. 3 shows a modification wherein the top of the cover 4 is flat and the thermosetting resin 17 is located in the depression formed by the turned-over edge 18 of the container.
