847,174. Strap fasteners; catches. AUTOFLUG GERHARD SEDLMAYR G.m.b.H. June 18, 1958 [June 26, 1957], No. 19523/58. Class 44. A fastener, for connecting one or a number of radially-spaced straps 41, each provided at its end with a hook element 3, to a body member 5, fixed to a lug 7 on another strap 71, comprises a retaining plate 1 of circular form adapted to engage the head of the body member and also the hooks 3 and to be disengaged therefrom for freeing the hooks simultaneously; the plate 1 is also tiltable to permit the hooks 3 to be individually engaged and released. The hooks engage recesses 8 in the body 5, and the plate is urged towards the body by a spring 6 mounted on the latter. Several modifications are described. In one, Fig. 2, the retaining plate 11 has holes 10 for engagement by the hooks 3 and is urged by a spring 12 housed in a cap 13; alternatively the hooks 3 are replaced by holes and the plate 11 is provided with hooks. In another, Fig. 4, a spring 32, held by a bolt 31 engaging the body member 30, urges the retaining plate 29 towards the body member, the bolt 31 being provided with a head 35 which is engaged by a sliding member 33, normally retained in a guide 39 on the plate 29 and having a tapered portion 40<1> extending to a recess 40; when the member 33 is moved manually by a wire shackle 37, connected thereto to release it from the guide, the plate is forced upwardly to release the hooks 28. Another construction comprises a press-stud type of safetycatch.
