Abstract

846,397. Baling-machines. BAMFORDS Ltd. Jan. 8, 1958 [Jan. 9, 1957], No. 802/57. Class 94(1). The crank and power drive shafts 28, 26 of an agricultural baler are housed in tapered roller bearings, the crank or eccentric supporting a driving sprocket or the like for the pickup &c. mechanisms. The invention may be applied to a baler as described in Specification 846,393. in which a shaft 26 is driven from a tractor etc. and rotates through bevel gearing 106, 107, crank means 36, 37 operating the compressing plunger, and the sprocket 29 driving through chain systems, the pick-up and tying mechanisms. The shaft 26 runs in tapered bearings 98, 99 and a shaft 28 carrying the parts 107, 29, 36 runs in similar bearings 108, 110.
