Abstract
846,371. Electrical equipment assemblies. TELEFUNKEN G.m.b.H. Sept. 30, 1958 [Oct. 5, 1957], No. 31177/58. Class 37. A chassis assembly includes angle members, each limb of which has a row of equally spaced holes, alternate holes being anular, and of diameter equal to that of the core diameter of self tapping screws, by means of which the chassis parts are held together, the remaining holes being a clearance size for the screws. In the embodiment described angle members (for example 3), in which the clearance holes are of slot form are used to construct two rectangular frames one of which is horizontal and carries circuit elements and the other mounted at an angle to the first and carries control knobs &c. The frames are joined together by means of plates 5 (Fig. 2) having rows of holes 6 to 11 adjacent to the edges; the rows 8 to 11 being curved so that the frames may be mounted at any of a number of angular displacements relative to one another. A chassis plate 16 (Fig. 3), which may carry a printed circuit, is secured to the horizontal frame by means of rectangular section plastic strips 17 (for example polyethylene) having two perpendicular slots. The vertical slots fit over the vertical edges of the frame angle members 12, 13 and the chassis plate is inserted between two opposed horizontal slots. Variable potentiometers and the like may be attached to the second frame by rectangular plates 18 (Fig. 4) having two different size overlapping holes 19, 20 which take the threaded bushes. Three parallel rows of holes are also drilled along the top and bottom of the plates to enable either of the holes 19, 20 to be positioned midway between the runners 14, 15. Pulley wheels 23 of a cord driven control may also be mounted by means of brackets 21, a tubular rivet 24 being fitted over a projection 25 on each bracket to carry the wheel which is secured in place by opening out the V-notch of the projection. In order to prevent the bracket from rotating about its fixing screw, projections 22 are cut to engage with the member 14.
