Abstract

697,050. Radio receiving sets. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., BRANDRETH, R. D., GARTHWAITE, F. N., and WILSON, E. June 25, 1952 [June 14, 1951], No. 14154/51. Class 40 (v). A radio receiving set, as described a radio gramophone, comprises a chassis supported on resilient mountings in such a manner that its position may be adjusted with respect to the receiver cabinet. The chassis 4 is mounted on two metal strips 7, the upper ends of which are turned over and attached to the top 1 of the cabinet by means of resilient mountings comprising rubber grommets 8 each having a central tapped bush 9. The grommets are fixed within holes in the strips 7 and are attached to the cabinet by means of screws 10. The lower ends of the strips 7 are attached to a further horizontal strip 11 by means of similar resilient mountings. The strip 11 is locked in place by being clamped by nuts 17 in any desired position along bolts 16 which are fixed in a wooden block 15 which is attached to the cabinet. The chassis carries a pointer (which is not shown in the Figure) which co-operates with a transparent tuning scale mounted in the top of the cabinet and by adjusting the positions of the nuts along the bolts 16, the pointer and the tuning scale may be accurately aligned. Furthermore the resilient mountings provide acoustical insulation of the chassis from the cabinet.
