Abstract

846,320. Air filters. INTENSIV-FILTER G.m.b.H. Nov. 27, 1957 [March 21, 1957], No. 37022/57. Class 8(2). A plurality of inward flow air filter sleeves 12 from which deposited dust is removed by periodic shaking accompanied by pulses of reverse flow scavenging air, are supported so as to be prevented from sagging by a rigid cross-bar 14 connecting the covers 13 and being itself connected by vertical bars 15 to the cover 11 of the filter casing 10. Shaking is effected by the impact of hammers 24 on the cross bar 14, said hammers being at the ends of levers 23, 231 pivoted at 27 to the casing cover 11 and connected at an intermediate point 22 to a vertical rod 21 which is reciprocated in a bearing block 22 by a camactuated lever 17. Vibrations are transmitted to the lower parts of the sleeves by axial rods 25 and rings 26. The lever 17 also carries a valve 20 which alternately opens and closes a scavenging air inlet 19 resulting in pulses of air entering the chamber during a sleeveshaking period until the pressure rises to atmospheric; the main suction valve 28 being kept closed. In a modification the rigid sleeve supporting members 15 are vertically displaced against the natural elasticity of the taut sleeves; the return movement being effected by spring action.
