845,444. Printing machines. DICK CO., A. B. April 10, 1957 [April 26, 1956], No. 10614/59. Divided out of 845,443. Drawings to Specification. Class 100(2) In a lithographic printing machine ink repellent is removed from a container by a fountain roller and is transferred to a transfer roller which is mounted on a swingable carriage and which is engageable with and disengageable from a roller of a roller train connected with the plate cylinder by means of an oscillating mechanism, the transfer roller being yieldably biased into engagement with the train roller; the oscillating mechanism includes a rotatable cam and a twoarmed lever having a cam-follower at one end and a member at the other end engageable with the swingable carriage for the transfer roller, the lever being pivotable about an axis which is laterally adjustable to vary the repellent feed rate by varying the relationship between the twoarmed lever and the carriage so as to obtain between the transfer roller and the train roller a relationship varying from complete disengagement to continuous engagement. The mechanism described is identical with that of Specification 845,443.
