Abstract

843,281. Fuel injection nozzles. CONTINENTAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Nov. 19, 1957, No. 35973/57. Class 7(3). A;fuel injection nozzle 19a is held in position in an insert 26 in a bore 25 in the cylinder head by a sleeve 40, the end of the insert being reduced at 25a and flanged at 26a to lock the insert in position. The insert is cast in position into an aluminium cylinder head and is of a material of smaller coefficient of expansion than the cylinder head so that at operating temperatures the flanged end of the insert holds a portion of the cylinder head material under compression. The injection nozzle construction is identical with that described in Specification 832,578.
