Abstract

839,254. Binding posts. BELLING & LEE Ltd. Oct. 11, 1957 [Oct. 12, 1956], No. 31119/56. Class 38 (1). An electrical terminal comprises a body 4 provided with a pillar 12 with an axial internally threaded hole 15 having a longitudinal slot 16 to accommodate a conductor. A moulded insulating head 1 with a central screw 10 co-operating with the hole 15 has a circumferential groove 8 providing a parallel movement to a clamping member 3 which has forces applied at three substantially equispaced portions by the head 1. A flange 13 on the body formed integrally with the pillar 12 and a securing screw 14 fits into an insulating base 5. A ring 2 co-operating with a groove 17 retains the head on the body.
