839,041. Furniture joints. FREEDLAND, M. M FREEDLAND, J., and FREEDLAND, A. Dec. 10, 1957 [Dec. 8, 1956], No. 37569/56. Class 52(2) [Also in Groups XXV and XXVIII] A chair or like frame comprises two inverted U-shaped sides 10, 11, Fig, 1, spaced apart by cross-members 16, 17, and may be packed flat for transportation or storage. The cross-members have holes 23 by which a seat &c. is secured to the frame, and are joined to the sides by screwed-rods 18, Fig. 3, extending axially from the ends of the cross-members and passing through the sides to receive nuts 22. The sides may be supported between saddlewashers 20, 21, or alternatively between the ends of the cross-members, which may be shaped to sit on the sides, and saddlewashers 21.
