Abstract
835,318. Transformers. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO. Ltd. July 4, 1958 [Aug. 1, 1957], No. 24429/57. Class 38 (2). A five-legged laminated magnetic core for a three-phase transformer has inner legs 2 in two sections. The centre leg, having cross-sectional area equal to that of each of the other inner legs, comprises two similar sections 6, 6. The inner legs adjacent the outer legs have larger and smaller sections 7, 8 having cross-sectional area respectively equal to those of the yokes 4 and of the outer limbs 3 and yokes 5 joining them. Joints which have to be crossed at peak flux density may have mitred joints 9, 9a. Spaces 10 between the sections of the inner legs form cooling ducts.
