Abstract

Spinning nozzles for the production of artificial filaments are made of an alloy comprising 10-30% of iridium, the remainder being palladium. The palladium may be replaced up to a total of 15% by the other platinium metals, e.g. rhodium and ruthenium, or by gold, silver and/or rhenium and up to 3% by copper, nickel, indium, iron, cobalt and/or manganese, the total amount of the additionally used alloy components not exceeding 15% and in no case exceeding the iridium content.ALSO:Alloys suitable for formation into spinning nozzles comprise 10-30% of iridium, the remainder being palladium. The palladium may be replaced up to a total of 15% by the other platinum metals, e.g. rhodium and ruthenium, or by gold, silver and/or rhenium, and up to 3% by copper, nickel, indium, iron, cobalt and/or manganese, the total amount of the additionally used alloy components not exceeding 15% and in no case exceeding the iridium content.
