[Also in Group XXXIII] A liquefied gas storage vessel comprises an inner casing 2 in communication through its open top with a surrounding outer casing 1 capable of withstanding high pressure ; the inner casing 2 providing thermal insulation either by a polished exterior surface or by a layer of insulating material 2a forming part of the casing itself. Said layer may be sandwiched between inner and outer members of the inner casing 2 ; the outer member providing mechanical support for the casing 2 and the inner member being rendered resistant to corrosion. As shown the casings 1, 2 are coupled together by bracings 9. Specification 790,877 is referred to.
