Abstract

830,143. Mouldings; draught excluders. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Feb. 11, 1957 [March 9, 1956], No. 7527/56. Classes 20(3) and 20(4) [Also in Group XXV] A sheet metal clip of U-shape has one or both of the arms 1 of the U cut and bent to provide a resilient tongue 5 extending integrally from one side edge of the base 3 of the U, the tongue extending in the general direction of the arm and one or both side edges being formed with an integral prong 6 directed inwardly of the arm with its free end facing the base of the U. As shown, the clip is adapted to secure a draught excluder to a vehicle body part a. The draught excluder compries a tubular rubber head 8 and an attaching web 9 which is placed in a metal, fabric covered attaching member 10. The clip is inserted in the rubber web with projections 7 on the clip engaging the base of the web, and the whole assembly is then pressed on to the part a. A tongue 5 may be provided in each arm of the clip. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the tongue 5 is bent to project inwardly of the clip.
