Class 108(3) A constant force pipe line support comprises a camshaped pulley 4 which suitably modifies the mechanical advantage of the pipe load in relation to a spring unit 2. As shown, two laterally spaced chains 3, 3, extend from corresponding lugs 11a on the spring unit 2, over respective laterally spaced pulleys 4a which are rigid with and on either side of a third pulley 4b. The chains 33 are connected by a member 6 rigid with the pulleys 4a 4b to a chain 1, the other end of which is connected to the pipeline (not shown). The pulleys may be toothed and may be in the form of three separate pulleys bolted together but adjustable to vary the eccentricity. There may be two or more spring units 2.
