Abstract

828,489. Strengthening aerial masts. GORDON, F. Sept. 5, 1958 [Sept. 17, 1957], No. 29238/57. Class 20(1) [Also in Group XXV] An aerial mast is stiffened by upper and lower clamps 11 and 12 joined by guy wires 14 which are tensioned by members extending outwardly from an intermediate clamp 13. The tensioning members comprise a tube 23 which engages a projection 18 on the clamp, a plug 24 in the end of the tube having a hole through which the threaded end of an eyeletted rod 25 may pass and a nut 28 for adjusting the outward projection of the eyeletted rod. The clamps (see Group XXV) are each formed in two parts which, when bolted together, form a hollow square through which the mast passes.
