Abstract

846,969. Clamp fastenings. BELLING & LEE Ltd. Jan. 31, 1958, No. 3249/58. Class 44. A device for supporting an aerial in such a manner that a change in the orientation of the aerial in space can be readily made, consists of a support member, two or more intersecting slots having their region of intersection within the support member, an aerial carrying member 12 having one end made captive at the intersection of the slots in such a manner that the aerial carrying member can rotate about its captive end and pivot from the position in which it rests in one slot to a position in which it rests in the other or any one of the other slots, and attachment means 14 for attaching the aerial carrying member to an aerial cross-arm. As shown, two slots 5, 6 are used. To hold the aerial carrying member captive the intersection of the slots is widened to form a chamber and the end of the aerial carrying member is formed with a flange. The slots are formed in limbs 3 and 4 which extend from a trunk 2 and the ends of the limbs are flat and are adapted to enter into a channel of the aerial cross-arm. The trunk 2 is a force fit into the end of an aerial mast 1.
