Abstract
827,779. Microphones. MULLER, W. May 10, 1957 [Dec. 19, 1956], No. 14881/57. Class 40 (4). [Also in Group XXXVII] A microphone carries a switch for controlling associated recording apparatus, the switch having a rest position and three operative positions of which each can be reached directly from the rest position. The switch comprises a knob 7 secured to a bolt 22 carrying a contact disc 26 which makes permanent contact with one contact spring 17 and may be moved to make contact with any one of three further contact springs 16A, 16W and 16R, the bolt 22 being slidable in three slots 21A, 21W and 21R disposed mutually at 120 degrees. The bolt 22 is embraced by the two prongs 33 of a pivoted member 31 which is latched in any one of the three positions by a leaf-spring 34, so that the switch remains locked in its A or W position but must be held manually against a spring 24 in its R position. The flat back of the microphone casing contains a recess in which a second switch is slidably mounted for connecting a resistor in series or parallel with the microphone capsule, Fig. 2 (not shown).
