Abstract

826,324. Two-part couplings. BURNDY CORPORATION. Dec. 16, 1957 [March 12, 1957], No. 39020/57. Class 38 (1). A springy member 20 of a double tubular form and made of beryllium copper locks a socket connector 14 to a mounting panel 10, shoulders 32 on radial parts 30 springing outwards to engage steps 34 in the aperture in the panel when the connector is inserted with its shoulders 16 in contact with the panel surface. A reduced neck portion 38 of member 20 provides the socket contacts. Alternatively the member 20 may take the form of a flat ring having integral radial locking arms sloping outwards from its outside circumference and flexible contact fingers extending from either its inside or outside circumference (Figs. 3 and 5, not shown). In a modification (Fig. 2) the springy member 73 locks a pin connector 60 to a plate 72 through locking fingers 75, member 73 having a central hole 74 through which the pin 62 passes.
