Abstract

822,989. Compartmented containers. GRIFFON, H. July 8, 1957 [July 6, 1956; Nov. 21, 1956], No. 21561/57. Class 66. A container having two or more separate compartments for storing medicinal substances until they are to be mixed comprises a bottle 2 having a hollow removable stopper 1 sealed by a displaceable wall 4 at its lower end and incorporating a push rod 5 which rests on the wall 4. Pressure on the cap 6 surrounding the top of the push-rod causes the wall 4 to collapse. In a modification. Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), the wall 4 has a lateral bead fitting into a groove in the stopper either on its inner or outer sides ; or the wall 4 may be U-shaped, Fig. 5 (not shown) and made of plastic or glass ; or an intermediate sleeve 9, Fig. 6, may be inserted to which the wall 4 is fitted ; or the stopper may be reduced in length, Fig. 7 (not shown), and the sleeve 9 contain an auxiliary tube for guiding the push rod ; or the stopper may be sufficiently elastic to enable the cap 6 to be dispensed with and the push rod 5 may take the form of a cylinder, Fig. 8 (not shown).
