997,427. Bottle stoppers. CEECO PRODUCTS PTY. Ltd. June 15, 1964 [June 18, 1963], No. 24703/64. Heading B8T. A stopper for a bottle containing intravenous solution includes a tubular plug 3 of rubber, with at least one tube 4 integral with its internal wall, depending from a cap 2. In order to prevent the solution contacting the rubber, the plug and tube walls are closely surrounded by a thin walled cover 11 of flexible synthetic resin such as polyethylene. The tube 15 of the cover may extend into the bottle interior from the plug base; alternatively, the tube slidably receives a further tube depending into the bottle. The outer face of the cap has three weakened parts 10, one in alignment with the tube 4, for the reception of tubes for the dispensing of the bottle contents.
