Abstract

821,330. Road-vehicle undercarriages. FELLABAUM, J. P. June 11, 1956 [June 16, 1955], No. 17961/56. Class 108(2) [Also in Group XXXI] Relates to the suspension of a trailer having a steerable axle 19 (see Group XXXI). A non-steerable axle 18 is fixed relative to the trailer frame 21 by pivoted radius rods and is suspended by springs 22, the rear ends of which are connected to the frame 21 by shackles 23. The front ends of the springs 22 are connected by shackles 24 to levers 25 independently pivoted at 27 to brackets 28 on the trailer frame. The front ends of the levers 25 have lost motion connections 31 to a plate 29 having a slot engaged by a pin 41 on a plate 40 secured to the axle 19, rubber pads 30 being interposed between the plate 29 and the levers 25.
