Abstract

1483867 Trailer suspensions C B SYMONS and K B SYMONS [trading as SYMONS ENTERPRISES] 21 Nov 1975 [27 Nov 1974] 47917/75 Heading B7D Each wheel of a trailer is carried by a Y- shaped frame 20 comprising on axle member 22 projecting from the joined ends of diverging members 21 connected to brackets 15 on the trailer chassis to pivot about an axis extending longitudinally of the trailer, a leaf spring 28 fixed at its centre to the axle member 22 bearing at its ends on abutment pads 32 pivotally mounted on the chassis. Each abutment pad 32 is mounted on a longitudinal pivot pin 37 carried by brackets 33 on the chassis 11, and carries a transverse pin 35 which retains a downturned end of the spring 28. The trailer may have on each side two wheels arranged in tandem and each carried by a Y-shaped frame.
