818,559. Regulating. DAIMLER-BENZ, A. G. Aug. 28, 1957 [Aug. 31, 1956], No. 27095/57. Class 7(6) An escape valve 12 in the delivery pipe 4 of a supercharger 2 is connected to the control linkage 8 of an exhaust brake valve 6 so as to be opened to by-pass the supercharger delivery to atmosphere when the brake valve 6 is closed, the linkage 10 being so arranged that the valve 12 initially open more slowly than the valve 6 closes but opens more rapidly as the valve 6 approaches its closed position. The linkage 8 is interconnected with the accelerator, throttle idling control, and clutch linkages so that the fuel supply is cut off during exhaust braking and the exhaust braking is cancelled before the fuel supply is resumed when either the clutch or accelerator pedals are depressed.
