Abstract

817,565. Electromagnets. OPTISCHE ANSTALT C.P. GOERZ G.m.b.H. Sept. 13, 1957, No. 28905/57. Class 35. [Also in Group XXXVII] A magnetic trip comprises two laminated frames 2, 2<SP>1</SP> separated by a layer 3 of non- magnetic material and bridged at their lower sides by a permanent or electromagnet 5 and at their upper sides by an armature 6. A tripping current passing in either direction through the operating coils 7, 8 releases the armature which is lifted by a spring (not shown). The armature is re-set by external means. More than two operating coil-carrying arms may be provided on the frames, each arm carrying independent coils to allow tripping only on the passage of simultaneous tripping currents.
