817,065. Air-space cables. COMPAGNIE GENERALE D' ELECTRICITE. July 3, 1957 [July 5, 1956], No. 21013/57. Class 36. A conductor in a high-frequency cable is insulated by a member of substantially U-shaped cross-section, has slotted sides 2 and is applied helically with the free edges of sides 2 bearing against the conductor. The member may be of U, V or #-shaped cross-section, and may be formed with a bridge 6 between the sides. Slots 8 of V-shape may be formed in the free edges of the sides, being of such a size and spacing that they close when the member is applied to a given conductor, and/or slots 7 may be formed in the part of the member which will be outermost.
