Abstract
814,531. Winding yarns, creel arrangement. MACKIE & SONS Ltd., J. Oct. 11, 1956 [Oct. 19, 1955], No. 29885/55. Class 120(2) In an automatic high speed cop winder having a row of vertical spindles on which the cops are formed downwards by forming means which remain near the upper end of the spindle during winding, the finished cops being forced off the spindles downwards, each spindle is provided with a supply package creel disposed immediately in 'front of the plane of the spindle and adapted to accommodate, for overend unwinding, at least one supply package with its head within easy reach of the operator and not above the forming means. In the arrangement shown bobbins 22 are arranged on a creel plate 24 and yarn therefrom passes upwards to the guide 28, through a tensioner 32 to the traverse member 12 and thence to the spindle 10, forming means 14 forming the nose of the cop and pushing the latter downwards during its formation. The creel plate 24 is supported from the frame of the machine in a position which is easily accessible to the operator.
