Abstract

814,008. Clip fastenings. GOLDSTONE, L. Nov. 13, 1957 [Aug. 17, 1956], No. 11609/56. Class 44 [Also in Group XIV] A hair clip comprises a pair of spring- urged concentrically curved members A, B which are hinged together at one end and rest normally in spaced, parallel relationship. The members are pivotally mounted on a pin c and have finger extensions a<SP>1</SP> b<SP>1</SP> influenced by a coil spring D to urge the hair-gripping jaws towards' each other, shoulders a, b abutting to maintain the jaws in parallelism. The device is made of metal or moulded in plastic and the perforations may be other than circular. According the the Provisional Specification the curvatures of the jaws differ slightly and they nest in close contact, a U-shape wire hair retainer being pivotally mounted on one member near the pivot pin c.
